Contract fields

Everything a contract template can fill in, written the way the template writes it, with what the chosen deal would print. Anything a contract needs that is missing here is a field to add.

Writing the Word template

  • Type a field in curly braces where its value goes: {company.legalName}. Keep each tag in one style (do not bold half of it).
  • Repeat a block per item: {#sellers} … {/sellers}. Inside it, use the item's own fields, e.g. {legalName}, and nest {#dbas}{name}{/dbas}. Put the block in a table row to get one row per item.
  • Show a block only when something is true: {#flags.hasEarlyDelivery} … {/flags.hasEarlyDelivery}; only when it is not: {^flags.isRenewal} … {/flags.isRenewal}; for one state: {#flags.state == "TX"} … {/flags.state == "TX"}.
  • Where each signer signs, inside {#signers} … {/signers}: [[sig:{sigTag}]], and if needed [[date:{sigTag}]], [[init:{sigTag}]]. The text is hidden and becomes that signer's field; leave room after it on the line.
  • Something the signer types while signing (a bank account on the ACH page): [[text:{sigTag}:Account number]]; the words after the second colon label the box.
  • The guarantor page: {#guarantors} … {/guarantors} lists each signer once, even one who signs for two Sellers. A block one signer signs per Seller (ACH authorization) goes inside {#sellers}{#sigTag} … {/sigTag}{/sellers} and uses [[sig:{sigTag}]] and {signerName}.
  • Upload it under Settings → Document templates → Word contract templates. A misspelled field or an unclosed block is listed by name, and the template cannot be used until it is fixed.
